We traveled to Zambia, Africa in 2017 with our two sons to help a village in Zambia to design and build chicken coops. After spending a few days in the village we learned that the organization we were working with needed an architectural design to build a safe house/ shelter for battered women in the village.
We were happy to donate our services to design a structure based on the limited availability of very basic building materials that would be assembled by only the locally available labor in the village. The building was constructed with masonry units that were formed from raw materials in the village.
